Welcome to RiverView! We are located directly on the Ohio River, which offers a beautiful view of historical downtown Madison, Indiana. RiverView offers many beautiful spaces, both indoor and outdoor, for your wedding, reception, or event. Our couples can enjoy having a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, all in the same place.

We here at RiverView would love to help you plan your wedding or special event. It is our goal to ensure your wedding is everything you dreamed.  That’s why we allow you to choose your own vendors to create your own special day.

Our Story

The RiverView Wedding & Event Venue was purchased in January 2018 and fully remodeled to accommodate weddings and a wide range of events. The interior sanctuary seats up to 150 guests for ceremonies and 100 guests for receptions, with elevator access for convenience and accessibility. The building includes four onsite restrooms for easy access during indoor or outdoor events, a fully accessible indoor kitchen, and dedicated preparation and relaxation spaces: a bride’s room, groom’s room, and hair and make-up room.

Detailed Information

Please take a few moments to review the following important details before finalizing your reservation. Understanding these policies and options will ensure your event runs smoothly and that your expectations are met.

  • You will have use of the facility from:
    • Friday @ 12:00 pm till 8:00 pm
    • Saturday at 9:00 am till 10:30 pm
    • Venue closes at 11:00 pm on Saturday.

    All guests are expected to exit no later than 10:30 pm. Over time charges of $100.00 per hour will be charged if not vacated.

  • To secure your date, we require a signed contract, 50% rental deposit fee. All remaining balances and $300.00 security deposit are due 30 days prior to your event. Event not paid in full, 20 days prior to event, will be cancelled.

  • All sales are final. Any notice of cancellation made by client must be made in writing. No verbal cancellations will be accepted. Should you need to reschedule your event, a fee of $500.00 will be assessed for the date change. You may change your date one time only for that fee. No refunds will be given. No selling your wedding date.


  • We offer an open vendor policy though we do have a list of suggested vendors that have proven to do a great job for past guests.

  • Our kitchen has a large prep space with refrigeration, stove, microwave and lots of counter space.

  • We offer a day coordinator service. This person will execute Rehearsal, Ceremony and Reception event. They will deliver a detailed timeline and finalize the layout no later than 14 days prior to the wedding. (Extra Charge)

    *Outside Coordinators are allowed.

  • Clients are required to carry special events Liability Policy for their events.

  • No cash bar, open bar only.

    *Beer, Wine and one Signature Drink.
